Driving social value

Our commitment to sustainability and equality

Net zero commitment

MEDILOGIK is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 for emissions scopes 1, 2 and 3. The commitment was made on 25 October 2024 by the management board.

Further to this, MEDILOGIK is committed to achieving a 50% reduction for emissions in scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2030.

Fighting climate change

MEDILOGIK is pleased to have completed the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment. The Assessment is a self-assessment and reporting tool and resulted in us receiving a Level 2: Comprehensive net zero targets and reporting for carbon emissions.

The information reported through Evergreen is supporting us to understand our alignment with NHS sustainability priorities and identify those areas in which we need to accelerate progress.

The Evergreen Assessment is one of several NHS initiatives designed to support its net zero and wider sustainability objectives. We are delighted to be supporting the NHS to achieve their net zero and sustainability ambitions, including those set out in the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap.

Wellbeing

MEDILOGIK is committed to the support of physical and mental health. The shift to full remote working brought many work-life balance benefits including increased time and opportunity for physical health improvement.

All employees have access to equipment and a remote assessment to support them with their physical health.  We have been making increased use of remote working tools to increase interaction, thereby reducing the risk of isolation.

MEDILOGIK has developed a culture that actively encourages employees to switch off their work communications outside of working hours.

Equal opportunity

MEDILOGIK is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce, and to eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and our customers, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.

The organisation – in providing goods and/or services and/or facilities – is also committed to eliminating unlawful discrimination of customers or the public. Our policy’s purpose is to:

  1. Provide equality, fairness and respect for all in our employment, whether temporary, part-time or full-time
  2. Not unlawfully discriminate because of the Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics of: age; disability; gender reassignment; marriage or civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin); religion or belief; sex; sexual orientation
  3. Oppose and avoid all forms of unlawful discrimination. This includes in: pay and benefits; terms and conditions of employment; dealing with grievances and discipline; dismissal; redundancy; leave for parents; requests for flexible working; selection for employment; promotion; training or other development opportunities.

Tackling economic inequality

MEDILOGIK recognises the impact of economic inequality and the role of businesses in addressing it. Our policy’s purpose is to:

  • Ensure a fair and equal pay policy that includes a commitment to supporting the living wage
  • Support learning and development
  • Promote equality of opportunity and develop a workforce that reflects the population in terms of characteristics such as age, gender, religion or belief, race, sexual orientation and disability
  • Support flexible working policies above statutory requirements and support staff looking after dependents or those taking on caring responsibilities
  • Support progressive workforce engagement
  • Make sure there is clear managerial responsibility to nurture talent and help individuals fulfil their potential. This includes a strong commitment to modern apprenticeships and the development of a balanced workforce
  • Provide employment opportunities regardless of socioeconomic or health status. Our remote working and remuneration policies ensure there are no impediments to working for MEDILOGIK and that no member of the team experiences in-work poverty
  • Ensure stability of employment and hours of work, with no exploitative employment practices including, for example, inappropriate use of zero-hours contracts
  • Recognise that remote working supports recruitment across the country, allowing us to support local recruitment nation-wide.

Modern slavery

MEDILOGIK is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking violations in its own operations, its supply chain, and its products. We have zero-tolerance towards slavery and require our supply chain to comply with our values.
